Summer Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Saturdays

Softball is a game of inches and this past Saturday, Megan Hall inched out Player of the Week honors over a number of worthy candidates. Megan's outstanding performance was the primary reason for her teams successful 15-6 victory over the Aluminum Falcons.

In a major upset, Accenture Hot Shots pulled out an improbable 5-4 victory over the Greenlake Fat Asses. The defending softcore champions were unable to stop a tremendous comeback by the Hot Shots. In the top of the seventh, the Hot Shots put up three runs to take a 5-4 lead and then held on with some great defense in the bottom of the seventh. Leading the way was Erik Christopherson, who drove in the winning runs with a shot to left field.

On Seafair Saturday, when many Underdog players were looking elsewhere for sights of soaring planes and speeding ships, Andy Shanstrom was putting on an air show of his own. He crushed two HRs and had two more hits going 4-5 with 6 RBIs and 4Rs. His crafty pitching kept Harley's Marauders off balance and the Bottom of the Fifth was able to quench their thirst for another victory.

The Player of the Week is none other than Judy Garland. Judy pitched a gem, putting the ball where it needed to be for the hitters to put it in play and let Smile Farm's tremendous defense go out and get it. Judy took a shutout into the seventh inning, before getting the final out herself in a 5-4 victory.
