In the most memorable Sunday in USL Flag Football history, three playoff games went to overtime, and three more ended with the winning touchdowns being scored in the final 10 seconds of play. So one can imagine that it was very hard on the Statdog when it came down to determining the Player of the Week. After much deliberation, the honor goes to the man who scored the final touchdown of the night.
After their quarterback nearly took a sack on the second to last play, he managed to get the pass off and it fell incomplete and stopped the clock with 1.6 seconds left. Then, Brian Belknap stepped up to play the role of Ron Burgandy for The Channel 4 News Team by catching the game winning touchdown on the final play, for a 31-30 victory. With the top seed, Low Expectations, losing in the final seconds, the second seeded News Team now assumes the role of favorite heading into next week's championship game.
