POTW: Darrell Flamand

Tell yo momma!

So it's kickball. So it's Underdog. Doesn't mean you can't see some great athleticism, team play, and drama out there on a regular basis. The game between Tell Yo Momma and Turkey Snazzlers had all that and the bag of chips Sunday afternoon in Ballard. After being tied at two in the top of the seventh, a series of potential plays of the game happened on both sides. First there was Robert Sjoberg's go ahead RKI kick to put the Snazzlers up one in the top half. Then came Stevie D's epic vault- at least four feet vertically- over a well thrown ball to stretch a single into a double, after which he slid into second, hopped up and screamed to his dugout to get them fired up. Then came Sjoberg's Jeter-eque relay at home plate to stop the game-winning run from scoring. But the play of the game belonged to Darrell Flamand, who stepped up to kick with two outs, two on, and one last chance to keep his team from their first consecutive losses in a long time. After one bad foul, Darrell let rip a huge bomb to left that was probably the biggest kick of the day, with no chance of being caught, and brought in the winning runs. Clutch, Darrell.
