It's very rare that a UD kickball game's outcome hinges on pitching. But when a team like the shorthanded underdog See You At Recess Bitches takes down the perennial hardcore champ favorites Supercalifornia Pants, we have to look at the reason why. In this case it was all Mike Gerner. Mike threw all kinds of nasty stuff at the Pants all day long, and had not only his own teammates but several kickers from Supercali commenting on his speed and nastiness. All day long, Supercali was taken out of rhythm by Mike's pitching and were never able to really get it going, including in some crucial situations where they left runners on base in scoring position due to foul outs. As a result, the Bitches pulled out a close upset. Honorable mention to Shandi "The Banshee" Boyle for her "hip" bunt, scoring two runs on the sacrifice- the difference in the game.
