All season long, Bout That Action Boss managed to scrape out wins and remain perfect heading into the playoffs. Even with no blemishes on their record, no one thought they would cruise to a championship.
In the title tilt with Ball Park Franks, the squad was hitting on all cylinders. Pounding out 20 runs, the bats were hot in the championship game. Everyone in the lineup contributed a little something, making it a real team effort on offense. On D though, Susie Burke was a one-woman wrecking crew. Anything hit out to left was virtually an automatic out as she made multiple spectacular plays to guide Bout That Action Boss to an easy championship victory.
Well done champs! Here's to a great summer of softball in West Seattle!
Easy choice for MVP today. Not once, but twice Susie went in full dive mode to snag a fly ball in left field. Complete web gems from the All-Star outfielder. Those plays made her two assists and five other putouts look routine. Besides her stellar defense, Susie was perfect at the plate. All-in-all by far one of the best championship game performances in Underdog Softball history!
Bout that Action Boss has won another game in West Seattle, this time to the score of 16-10 against a very competitive Indy Team. The star of the game was Lauren, who made great catches all game and helped out offensively as well. Lauren truly shined on defense though, as her catches stymied the other team's momentum at crucial parts of the game leading to a victory. Offense and defense was needed to win this game and Lauren delivered in spades.
Anthony had a great day all around. At the plate and in the field to lead his team to a come rom behind win, including a late inning game saving catch. Nice work Anthony!
It was a beautiful sunny day in West Seattle, a lovely day for some softball. No one seemed to enjoy themselves more than Kendra, who was a stud in the outfield and was 3-4 at the plate. Her shining moment came in the 5th inning, where she dove for a ball and snagged it for the third out of the inning, the large, intimidating batter in disbelief as he was already at second base. Her next time up though, she realized what goes around comes around, as she herself was robbed of an extra base-hit by a stunning catch (though not the same person she robbed)..congrats Kendra and welcome back West Seattle softball!
