They say pitching wins championships, but this game was all about the offense in a close 20-15 nail-biter. Things started off rocky for the Bad Booze Bears as they were trailing through the first four innings of the game. Never losing confidence however, their refuse to lose attitude helped them explode for a 7 run fifth inning to take back the lead.
With the adrenaline pumping, they were able to shut down Stranger Danger's potent lineup in the sixth, adding on another 5 runs of their own for good measure. Despite a last inning rally from Stranger Danger, the Bad Booze Bears were able to persevere and take home the glory.
This was undoubtedly one of the most exciting and fast-paced games underdog has seen it quite some time.
Going 4-4 on the day, Molly Johnston's stick caught fire at just the right time. In a winner-take-all game, her offensive performance may have been the difference in this nail-biter . With this win securing the championship for the Bad Booze Bears, it comes as no surprise that Molly Johnston takes home our player of the week honors!
Pat pitched a very strong seven innings for his team the Bad Booze Bears. He came up clutch for them in the 6th inning with a huge hit. All around great performance from the veteran player.
In an odd game that saw the Bad Booze Bears give up 11 runs in the top of the first, it was surprising that such theatrics would end the game. Mike G had a big game at the plate, and was a key contributor to the Bears' comeback efforts. Once the game was tied in the 4th inning, the next three innings would be a back-and-forth affair.
Cue dramatic music. With the Bears down by one run, they worked to get the bases loaded. Then, with two outs, Mike G sent a long fly ball deep into the night that plated the tying and winning runs.
