That's What She Said ends up on top

That's What She Said had a swift 2 game victory against Liquid Courage in the semi finals, continuing their undefeated streak and a formidable opponent for the finals. In the other semi final game, Sweet T's Thumping 3's stumbled in the 2nd game, letting it slip to Diggers, but pulled it out in the end to face That's What She Said one final time.

Both teams were in high spirits going into the finals and play started out fast and ferocious. A short serving streak by Jake left the T's in the lead, but only for a few points. Good serving and two kills in a row by Tony of She Said switched the lead to his team. The kills were abundant on both sides of the net, with kills by Rob widening She Said's lead, and kills by Lexi and Jake keeping the T's in the game. Sarah of She Said had a good serving streak, bringing the team to an 18-12 lead. A kill by Tony and an ace by Rob bring the game to 23-15. A huge kill by Blue brings the game to 24-16, unfortunately the T's couldn't quite pull it out and She Said wins at 25-16.

The second game was much of the same: big kills on both sides. The passing was on tonight - great passing by Theresa of the T's, and Sani of She Said allowed the setters to move the hitters around on both sides. There were quite a few missed serves on both sides during the second game; good thing both teams made up for it with some quick net play and great digging!

A huge kill by John of the T's started off the game, followed by kills by Rob and 2 kills by Blue. A great dig by Theresa and a kill by Liz brought the T's into the lead at 10-8. She Said wasn't having though, and Kristina took control of the game with a deep corner hit, complemented by some great serving by Richie. She Said pulled into the lead with more great serving by Rob, great passing by Sarah and a big kill by Tony. Sani served the game to 19-15, then got a great short pass that leads to a kill for her team.

Kristina got another great cross court kill to bring the score to 23-18. The T's weren't done yet though! Steady serving by Jake and unforced errors by She Said ties up the game at 24-24. Kristina, again, isn't satisfied with that score and she slams the ball into the back court. Rob follows up the momentum of her hit with an ace, and That's What She Said become the newest Underdog Volleyball Champs!
