The stage was set for the final showdown between the Angry Pirates and Victorious Secret. The grass was cut, the field freshly soiled by Seattle's finest canines, and the Cascade Playfield spectators even came early to grab good seats. The game started with dominating pitching from both teams as the game went scoreless into the third inning when the Angry Pirates scored the first runs of the game. Their stellar defense with exceptional play in the outfield held Victorious Secret to no runs until the 5th. Victorious Secret started a rally in the 5th inning and had runners on first and second with one out. The next batter crushed a low drive to third but it was fielded clean and the Chipper Jones of kickball and completed an amazing 5-4 double play to end the inning and Victorious Secrets' rally. The Pirates added a run and their defense held strong through 6 innings and entered the bottom of the 7th with a 7-2 lead. With their backs against the wall, Victorious Secret rallied to score 3 in the 7th, cutting the lead to just 2 runs with smart running and great kicks, but in the end fell short of a 7th inning comeback. The Angry Pirates completed their spectacular season and earned their first championship win. Congrats on a well fought battle!
