Eastside Summer Softcore Kickball at 132nd Square Park Sundays

This week's player of the week goes to Griffin Campbell of the French Ticklers. Player of the week is an exceptional title that only a few hold and this week, Griffin, showed us that he is ready to walk amongst a few great women and men in kickball history. Griffin, along w/his teammates from the French Kicklers, played a great game against the very tough, Team Awesome. He put a true KICKBALL leg to those pitches from the known all-star Kevin Smith of Team Awesome. But great kicking isn't the only thing that makes you player of the week. Griffin also demonstrated team spirit and provided constructive, positive advice to his appreciative team-mates. Way to be a fun kickballer out there, Griffin! And thanks for showing us how to truly kick a big rubber ball!

This week's player of the week goes to Jennifer Harris of Honey Nut Ichiros. Jennifer is the captain and one heck of a kickballer of Honey Nut Ichiros and she definitely showed that in her 2 games played on Sunday. In her first game against the tough Team Ramrod, she managed to get on base nearly everytime. And in her second game, where she gave up her football time to play w/team Cobra Kai, she surprised us all as a catcher w/her unbelievable Kicks to first base, kicking runner after runner out. Great job out there, Jennifer!

High noon... the heat was on (ok, maybe it was 3pm...). But Annie had all the intensity needed for her team for a sweet victory. Lets just say, she was a mix of amazingness and awesomeness. Not only is she a great base runner, but this gal can seriously play some defense. She was making double plays left and right. Look out for this one! Cause she'll getcha!

Jared astounded and awed players all day long with his powerful kicks to all deep parts of the outfield. More than a few times I heard gasps from fans as he punished the ball with his foot.
On defense he covered an amazing amount of open space, and even used tricky camouflaging to "hide" in centerfield.
After three games in the grueling heat, Jared deserves Player of the Week honors!
