Determined Team Claws into Final, Then Cruises to Crown

SEATTLE,WA---You can never be sure of anything in softball. On a breezy Saturday on Capitol Hill, the Maroon-clad club "Good in Every Position" seemed out of the running in the semifinals against the Sabey Sluggers. Down 7-4 going into the last inning, G.i.E.P. managed to tie the score before winning in walk-off fashion on Cate C's infield hit. It was their first lead of the game.
The celebration could only be temporary, however, as the team immediately turned around to play They Might Be Giants in the final, a side which had smashed their way to a 19-0 win earlier in the day. Undeterred, G.i.E.P never trailed, jumping out to a three run advantage and pulling out a 9-5 win to take home the title behind Billy B's stellar pitching performance and solid defensive work, including a laser-throw double-play to kill a rally. (Note-Billy earned a player of the game nod for his play.)
As they donned their champs-t-shirts with excitement, they promised to return again. When you've taken home an Underdog League crown, that's a 'good position' to be in.
