In a battle of two titans in the Midcore division, Hold My Kick downed Kick Yo Couch Ninjas to win the championship in West Seattle. They rode a big second inning to take the lead and keep them in front for the remainder of the game. James Oleinik had a great game from the mound to prevent a strong lineup from getting into the game. While James led the defensive effort, he had help in the form of some phenomenal plays from his fielders, particularly at the corners where the first and third basemen had some great stretches to prevent base runners from advancing. Big time players make big time plays in big time games and Lizzy Jennings is no exception. In the top of the 4th, with a couple of runners on base, Lizzy looked like Julio Jones as she turned in a phenomenal over the shoulder catch to end the inning. Plays like Lizzy's propelled Hold My Kick to a 7-1 victory as they shook off their Red Rubber Showdown hangover and won the championship humbly. While Azar Koulibaly couldn't make it to the championship game, his teammates made sure to win in his honor, and as they so graciously put it, "Azar can suck it." Congrats guys!

The Regulators were not the favorites going into the playoffs but they managed to show everyone that they deserved to be there. With only a single win during the regular season to their name they managed to defy the odds and take the Softcore division title. It really goes to show that through hard work, dedication, and a drive to learn from one's past mistakes can have a huge impact down the road. There was never a point where they were down and they made very little mistakes. Their defense is what really won them the title. They made some phenomenal catches and even had some outs at first where the pitcher would kick it to the first baseman rather than throw it on a bunt. It was great to watch this team grow over the course of a season and eventually become champions. Excellent work everyone!!
