Summer Co-ed Softball at Queen Anne/Interbay Tues/Thurs

Tom had a reat day at the plate going 6 for 6 with 3 homers and 3 doubles. The big difference was his homers weren't just hits that rolled by people. He One hoped the fence twice which is 350+ away. Thats the same as hitting homers out of Safeco. Speaking of which rumor has it the M's are looking for a bat. Tom you keep that up, and the M's will be calling you soon. Great job!!!

To no one's suprise, this week's player of the week goes to Nick Hoffman of team St. Andrews. Nick played a great game on Tuesday against the fun and outgoing Just the Tip. At shortstop, Nick had a sweet catch that Ozzie Smith would be proud of. Up to bat, Nick hit 4 for 4 w/some smokin shots into deep outfield. As a smart hitter and quick on defense, Nick is definitely looking at a FAT offer from the BIGs. Great job out there, Nick.

For her first time playing outfield, Lauren sure didn't show any jitters all night. With the game on the line, Lauren made a terrific catch in left-center field for a huge out in the last inning of her team's matchup. After struggling at the plate early on, ORfans exploded in the 4th and 5th inning to take the lead from their opponents but needed the defensive play of Lauren Fellows to snag the win, and boy did she come up big!

This week's player of the week goes to Andy Donnelly of St. Andrews. St. Andrews played a double header where Andy knocked the stitches off the ball. In his second game, he had 2 homers including one grand salami. But to make sure the 2nd opponent wouldn't pick up on his power, during his first game he had one of the wildest most intersting cuts at the ball. He swung at an inside pitch while fading back, practically falling on his a$$. Totally fooled anyone who was watching;) Great job at not fully revealing your talents in the first game! And thanks for being a great sport;) !!!

Fact #1: Kristen Prigmore is the fastest softballer in all the land. Fact #2: She cannot be thrown out....ever (okay maybe a stretch),. But during her big game against a tough opponent, Kristen inspired her team by running the bases smart and FAST, not once being called out. This fired up her team so much they pulled out their first win of the season! Great job out there Kristen!

Courtney has earned her spot as most improved second baseman in the league. During her game against the hard hiting ORfans, she managed to be in the right spot at the right time. When the ball was hit to short w/a runner on first, she didn't hesitate or even have to think to run to second to get the force out and attempt the possible double play ball. She assisted in at least 5 outs. But not only did she play a hell of game on D, she also scored the winning run in the very last inning of the game. WAY TO GO, Courtney!

This week's player of the week is Tony Pullen, who did a little bit of everything to lead Just The Tip to a victory. Just The Tip jumped out to a large early lead after a 9 run first inning, thanks in part to Tony's brilliance at the plate. Tony went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a triple on the night. Despite the big first inning, Just The TIp struggled to manufacture runs, but Tony kept the Ligers at bay with his lock-down pitching performance, which included him knocking down a line drive up the middle, recovering, and gunning down the runner barreling down the line. Congratulations to Tony and Just The Tip on a hard earned win!

This weeks player of the week goes to Tony Pullen for his 110% in two tough playoff games. Tony pitched both games, but when the ball was in play Tony was in motion with getting outs on his mind. He laid out for a tight play at home getting the tag before a run scored, and that was early. He fielded lazors up the middle, both for self preservation as well as an out closer to the crown. Tony pitched two great games, and when each game was on the line he dialed in and hit the corners. Great night Tony!
