Heather VanHorn
They MIGHT be Giants
This weeks player of the week goes to the outstanding play of Heather VanHorn. Heather is the heart of the team, and produces in every game her team plays no matter the season. She went above and beyond this Friday with stellar hitting stats that made her team-mates jealous. She hit a wopping 4 for 5 knocking in numerous runs, and also crossed home-plate twice herself giving her team valuable insurance runs on their way to the win. Heather also played a great 2nd base racking up outs on defense, and keeping the opponent at bay. Heather's presence alone elevates the players around her, and without her They Might Not Be Giants. Great game Heather, and goodluck on future teams you play with!

Slap My Pitch Up
This weeks player of the week goes to Tera T. for her huger contribution in extra innings. At the end of 7 the game was tied at 13, and both defenses were beig stingy. Slap My Pitch Up was able to escape the top of the 8th not allowing any runs to cross heading into the bottom all locked up at 13. With a solid hit before Tera and a runner in scoring position Tera play a hard shot into play and helped her squad win 14 to 13 with a solid walk-off base hit! Great job Tera!

Kekambas
This weeks player elite is Nikki G. from Kekambas. Nikki started the season off a bit rusty, but now she is a team leader in many stats with her excellence on both offense and defense. Nikki played a solid catcher directing traffic, and keeping spirits high in a extra inning game against a solid opponent. Nikki helped her team on offense with a couple of big hits in a tight game knocking in runs and getting into scoring position. Nikki is improving every week and is becoming a team leader, and could possibly renegotiate a high paying contract next year if her team is willing to spend the big bucks. Great game Nikki and keep it up!

Sports!
This weeks player of the week goes to Andrew T. for his performance at the plate. While playing a solid short-stop, it was his bat that caught the eyes of the POTW judges. Andrew hit 3 bombs to open up a early lead, and hit a foul-ball that probably has not landed yet. Andrew tried to lay off a meaty pitch at the end of the game, but even his lazy attempt in the batters box resulted in a shot over the fence for an out since he already used up the HR quota! Great job Andrew!

RJs Pop Shot
This week's highlighted player is Andrew Dodd of R.J.'s Pop Shot. R.J.'s had two games on the night, splitting the results. Andrew was very important in his team's first victory, but it was in the second game, a loss, where Andrew's toughness was central. In the beginning of the game it looked as though Andrew might not even be around for the entire game when he rolled his ankle. Fortunately for R.J.'s Andrew composed himself through his superior mental toughness and continued to play. All the more he went 2 for 3 in the game after the injury occurred. Andrew truly exemplified the Underdog spirit and had a great night. Nice job Andrew!

Sports!
This weeks player of the week goes to Camille D. and her awesomness at 2nd base. Camille was a defensive guru at 2nd getting all who hit her way out. Camille sealed the honors with 3 text book double plays she turned at 2nd base not allowing the opponent to mount any sort of comeback in her first game. Camille also hit the cover off the ball and was an all around stud on the field. Great game Camille!

Jason Miller
Sports!
This week's honored player is Jason Miller of Sports!. In the nights closest and most exciting game, one that featured multiple lead changes, Jason was the hero. After the game ended as a tie at 15-15, Sports! and They might be GIANTS went into extra innings. Strong defense and pitching held the GIANTS scoreless in the top half on the inning which allowed for Jason to shine. Stepping to the plate with one out in the bottom of the inning Jason blasted the first ball he saw out over the green monster of a left field fence that is characteristic to Lower Woodland Playfield 3. Not only did this win the game for Sports! but adavanced them to the next round of the playoffs. Nice job Jason!

Bottom of the 7th Rally
This weeks honors go to the whole squad of Rounding Third. Rounding Third made a late game rally to earn the honors as they only put up 4 runs in the first 6 innings and went into the bottom of the 7th down 8 runs and their hopes looking grim. It was at that point that the bats heated up and the runs poured in. Rounding Third was able to put up 9 runs to win their championship with a score of 12 to 13. Great job to the whole team on a great win!
