Summer Softcore Kickball at Denny Park Mon/Wed

This weeks player of the week goes to Tasha A. for her efforts in the last inning of the game. Tasha played solid in the early innings, directing traffic from the catchers position, and laid down some mean bunts but her honors of player of the week were earned later in the game. With a tight game that was played with solid defense, it went into the bottom of the 7th all tied up. With a solid lead-off kick, and one out recorded Tasha approached the plate with her team's hopes and aspirations on her shoulders. Tasha picked her spot as the pitch came in, and knocked a big shot right up the middle, making a tough painfull play for the defense. With her efforts she made it to 1st base safely and the winning score came in to win 6 to 5. Great game Tasha!

When playing at Denny Park, I know there is a lot of people who think they can boot it over the fence. What they don't realize is its a lot harder than it looks. Ricky was more than willing to take on that challenge. He blasted 2 homeruns over the rightfield fence. And to add insult to injury, one of them even hit a player on the other team's car. Ricky's motto: Chicks dig the long ball.

Kevin was the Player of the Week for Wednesday's games. Outfitted in a cut-off shirt, he had a short Janet Jackson moment early in the game. The FCC tried to come and shut him down, but there was no stopping Kevin on defense. He switched from Janet Jackson to Keanu with his Matrix-like dives in right center field to save numerous runs.

Spike Lee said, "It's gotta be the shoes". In Kelli's case it's gotta be the hair. She was like the female Samson out there. With her fantastic hairdo Kelli was putting down kickers left and right. She pitched a great game. She also made 2 nice grabs from the pitcher position. But it was her winning attitude that earned her POTW. Way to pitch and have a great attitude Kelli!

Ashley earned a new nickname thanks in part to her stifling defense at third base. Seemed anything kicked her way just got caught by the "The Human Cobweb". Even her opponents were impressed by the enigma at third base.
With a smile on her face, she took all the attention with grace, and provided some great stories for the office on Thursday.

When most teams just put up a 10 run inning against a short handed team, their players relish in the probable victory and get visions of record setting scores. Not many would volunteer to play defense for the opponent. But that is exactly what Naseef did. With Naseef's defensive contributions, Redfin made the game competitive. He also pitched in a couple of RBIs as his Heavily Faulted held on for the victory. A win all around for Naseef!

Arya Bahrami coordinated team's arrival at field since there was a change from one place to another. Arya also had a big day at the plate between both games going 7-7 with several RBI's.
