Queen Anne #3 - Sunday [SUM 04]

In the keynote game of the #3 Softball league in upper Queen Anne, Dana Anderson led Team Maverick over The Squeeze. Not only did Dana throw a seven inning shut-out, she also led the Team Maverick to the finals of the first annual USL Celebrity Texas Holdem Poker Tournament. That's where the celebrities from the various USL leagues get together to test their skills on the poker table. Just like her pitching performance, Dana aced her way into the big money round. Great job Dana, and remember you don't have to do everything yourself.

For the first time in this softball league, we have co players of the week. Tim from the Angry Pirates went 7 for 7 and ran the bases like a mad man. Gus from the Mavericks went 3 for 3 with 2 HR's and 7 RBI's. Congrats gents.

Chip continued his season long tear by hitting two home runs and ending the game with and outstanding double play. Chip commented, "My defense is on the rise, today a double play, next week a triple play, and the week after, I'm gunning for a quadruple play!". Apparently, Chip hasn't quite mastered this game as of yet.

After the game feelings were running high and the Bears completed that task that only one other independent team has ever accomplished. The indy team won the championship. When asked what made the season so great and how his team came together to win it all, Kevin stated, "Associate with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation; it is better to be alone than in bad company."
