Fall Co-ed Kickball at Lower Woodlands Tuesdays

In a close battle between Sloshball and the Angry Pirates, Bryan was the standout player on both sides of the ball. He was seemingly a one man outfield, pulling in catches one after another. Every time the Pirates put a good boot into the ball, Bryan was there to catch it. The defense was great, but Bryan wrapped up player of the week by scoring the go ahead and eventual winning run in the 7th inning. Great game Bryan!

Was this a wrestling match or a kickball game? You wouldn't know by the look of the "Masked Avenger" playing center field for Ball Me, Maybe. It was enough to get the opponents attention as they kept kicking high and long in the Masked man's direction and he kept making incredible running and diving catches. It was as graceful as a ballet yet powerful as a flight from the top turnbuckle.

On offense, Marcos had key base hits with 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored in the first game. In the second of the doubleheader, Marcos really came through when it counted. Bottom of the 7th, trailing by a run, he used his speed to take extra bases - making a single into a double then scoring from 2nd on an infield single--he couldn't be stopped (luckily their was a fence or he'd still be running!) His teammates helped out by putting up another run and capturing the late night victory. Hope to see a return of the "Masked Avenger" next Tuesday night. Thanks for keeping it fun!!

Huge offensive numbers may look great, but everyone knows that it is defense that wins the game. While Beer n Bacon may have put up 15 runs, it was Anna's amazing D at SS that drove them to victory. It was her sure hands on the force outs at 2nd, concentration in catching the pop flys and quickness in turning a double play that stifled the Fierce Creatures and brought the win home. Great play Anna!

Player of the week goes out to Brittany for her many contributions to a manhandlers championship. Whenever they needed a baserunner or a clutch sacrifice bunt, Brittany came through. Although her most impressive play came in the bottom of the 6th, when she caught a fly ball in RF using her face. That spectacular catch ended the inning and the opponents rally. Great game Brittany!
