Winter Co-ed Flag Football at Seattle Center Tuesdays

It was a big night for Melissa Valenzuela, as she led Do Work! to a nice win. Melissa had a huge catch late in the first half, and later caught a touchdown, in her teams' 42-12 victory. And on top of that, it was her birthday! Congrats to Melissa and to Do Work!

There was an epic contest last night, as Touchdown My Pants bested Back That Pass Up 26-19. Tuesday Nights don't usually produce this kind of drama. With her team trailing 19-18 late in the second half, Nicholle Chittick caught a long touchdown to put her team ahead for good. The deep pass seemed to hang in the air forever, but when it came down, Nicholle was there to haul it in for the game winning score for her team!

Quite frankly, Do Work and TDs In Your Face played a relatively dull first half. The score was 8-6 at half with TDs leading, but little did we all know about the fireworks that were going to go off in the second half. The teams traded scores on three consecutive drives, but then TDs got a stop and were looking to take control by making it a two score game. But then Zak Hurick made a huge interception, positioning his team to re-take the lead. However, TDs weren't done, as they answered with a touchdown of their own with less than 30 seconds to play. Do Work had a response of their own, but until the last play, TDs wouldn't allow for anything deep, so midfield was as far as Do Work! could go. And on the final play, just when all hope appeared to be lost, Zak caught a Hail Mary touchdown pass, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat! Congratulations to Zak and to Do Work!

There are Player of the Week performances, and then there are Championship performances like the one Eric Forner turned in on Tuesday night. With everything on the line, Eric intercepted three passes and scored a touchdown as well, leading his team to a 28-20 victory and the Coed Championship!
