Winter Midcore Volleyball in Ballard Tuesdays

Hustle. The one word that described Drew's performance tonight. Drew was everywhere on the court chasing down the ball to make a huge play for his team. Inspiring his team to stay in the game, Drew's pure determination did just that as the Judge Judys fought tooth and nail against the Block Party. Though falling short as a team, Drew was involved in the play of the week worthy of ESPN's Top 10! Chasing a ball that ricocheted off his teammate, Drew ran to the end of the gym diving to hit the ball back to his teammate who placed the ball perfectly on the opposing team's line. Amazing job tonight Drew!

Dani had a great all-around game tonight, highlighted by her strong serving performance. Dani was able to convert on multiple serve attempts, her longest streak being 9 serves in a row. Combined with her aces were her bumping abilities. Dani was a complete terror on the court as she was able to get to any spot to retrieve the ball which absolutely deflated a short-handed "Judge Judys" team. She was a complete natural out there and earned the player of the week award.

Laura played like a woman possessed tonight. Clearly loving the game of volleyball, Laura put everything on the line. Laura would dive for balls that seemed impossible to reach, but sure enough, Laura was able to get there to pop the ball right up. With her impressive setting and accurate bumping, Laura's repretoire of skills were unmatched tonight.

Rachel was phenomenal from the get go. Starting off in the middle back, Rachel made perfect bumps to the setter. Her hustle saved her team a lot of points as she made diving one handed saves to pop the ball back up. Rachel did not stop there as she showed great poise at the net. It didn't matter who went up to contest Rachel's spikes as she would softly tap the ball over their reach scoring more points. But if no one did jump to block Rachel, then she would make you pay with her pin-point accuracy. Great job tonight Rachel!
