Block You Like A Hurricane started off the season with 5 straight wins before they finally lost a game. From that point, they wouldn't lose again. Going 5-1 in the regular season, Block You Like A Hurricane captured the number one seed to face off against "Cindy" in the first round of playoffs. Making sure there was no "Cinderella Story," Block You Like A Hurricane breezed right by "Cindy" 3-0 to face off against the high powered "In It To Win It- Slalom Consulting."
With "Slalom Consulting" visualizing an upset, Block You Like A Hurricane was having dreams of their own. Block You Like A Hurricane covered the ground as well as anyone could. No spikes were going to be uncontested as they shut down "... Slalom Consulting's" offense to win 3-0. And now came the championship game.
"The BAdgers" just defeated the number two seeded "Red Dragons," and had their confidence at an all time high. The championship match was a back and forth bout for the first set. Block You Like A Hurricane had to fight tooth and nail to keep up with "The BAdgers." With the first set tied at 20 a piece, Anne stepped up to the serving line. With ice in her veins, Anne served up multiple "aces" to take the first set for Block You Like A Hurricane.
The last set seemed to be a repeat of the first with the intense back and forth action. With every spiked that was scored from "The BAdgers," Patrick always seemed to answer back with a thunderous spike of his own. But "The BAdgers" began pulling away, leading 18-15. Block You Like A Hurricane did not back down and Laura made sure you knew it. No matter the score, Laura showed a smile letting you know that this is their time and that there is plenty of game left. Chris and Dan seemed to feed off of Laura as they hustled everywhere on the the court to deliver passes. Laura and Leah were the ultimate utility players as they also did everything on the court. They both played any position flawlessly. Block You Like A Hurricane tied the game up at 18's with their great teamwork, Zach powered two spikes in a row to gain the lead. But again, "The BAdgers" would not go and tied the game up again, gaining momentum.
The turning point of the game happened at 21-21, when Anne received a pass and set a beautiful pass to Patrick who blistered the ball to the ground. "The BAdgers" were shaken and Yvonne took advantage with her beautiful serves. Block You Like A Hurricane became champs after winning 25-22.
Congratulations! A well-deserving victory for a great team, better yet, for a great group of people!
