Where My Pitches At
The new sultan of swat has emerged on the lower woodlands softball diamond. Coleman hit a towering drive into the skate park in left center that no one is really sure if it landed yet or not. He followed that impressive hit showing off his wheels with a nice triple. He finished the night with 2 doubles, leaving him just a single from the cycle. Great job Coleman. Keep up the great hitting!

Pitch Slap Too Much For St. Johns
Michael Kirkman's 2 Jacks Sparks Firestorm
Michael Kirkman's 2 deep base clearing bombs on Thursday night against St. Johns was exactly what the doctor ordered for Pitch Slap who found themselves in a knock down drag out fight with St. John's for most of the early innings. When Pitch Slap needed a lift and a cushion Michael cashed in twice in 2 innings and the rest is history. These2 HRs and his 6 RBIs proved to be all Pitch Slap needed to prevail. Great game Michael.

Taking One for the Team
Early in the game between the Big Fish Sticks and Here for the Beer, Evan R, of Here for the Beer, positioned himself to field a routine ground ball at third base. However, the ball took a nasty hop and drilled Evan square between his mouth and his nose, leaving a pretty big cut. Evan would remain out for the next inning, but when it was his turn to swing the bat in a tie ballgame, even a gash on his face wouldn't stop him from helping out his team, as Evan hit a 2 RBI double to help secure Here for the Beer's victory and earning Evan this week's Player of the Week.

George Watts Gives Up One Run In Blow Out
Great pitching will always be the centerpiece of any great team and their ability to win ball games against good teams. Thursday night at Lower Woodlands George pitched an absolute masterpiece using an R.A. Dickey type floating knuckle ball pitch that stymied Double Diamond batters all night and kept the bases empty for most of the game. He also batted 2 for 4 with a triple a double and 3 runs to help his own cause. Shorty after the game George received a phone call from an anonymous MLB team who reviewed the tape of the game and he may be leaving St. Johns to go pitch in the bigs. Terms of the deal have not been released by the team and reports of this have not been completely confirmed by MLB or his agent. We will be monitoring the situation closely in the coming days and wish George and his family well. Great game George!

Tom Venneman Goes Nuts
Batting 5 for 5 with a HR, a triple, two doubles and 3 RBIs would be a great night for anyone. Tom was an absolute boss Tuesday night playing short stop like it was the last game he would ever play again. Nothing could get by him and his plate performance was off the hook. When the Dirty Diamonds needed a pick me up Tom was the pick me up. Great game Tom.

Chai Seachoa's Walk Off 2 Run Blast Does The Trick
In a very tight game that came down to the final inning it was Chai's 2 run walk off blast that spelled the difference. The Joint down by 6 runs going into their final at bat managed to score the 6 runs they needed to tie the game up. With 1 on and no one out, Chai steps into the box and takes one pitch. On the very next pitch he connected straight away dead center and the party was over. Good night, drive safe and thank you for coming. Great game Chai!

Jake Elliot Belts Grand Slam During Rout
Tuesday night performance by Jake Elliot and Here For the Beer was a lesson in scoring runs. They scored in every inning and was never behind during the entire 7 innings. This team needed a win badly, the came together and pounded the ball all game long. The there's Jake who kick started the entire thing. With the Joint ripping off 5 runs in the 5th that pulled them into within 5 runs and had momentum going into the 6th inning. Then it happened. With the bases juiced and up by 5 runs, Jake steps into the box and delivers a bomb over the outfield screen giving HFTB a very comfortable lead that would hold up. Jake also pitched the last 3 innings holding The Joint to just one run to help his cause. Great game Jake.

Ivan Mecimore Leads The Charge
Week in and week out this guy comes to play. I can't remember a time where i didn't see him get a hit or score during a game. His defense is always stellar and down right gold glove like. Anytime his team has needed a spark he always delivers and gets his team going. He's always a gentleman on the field and never shows bad sportsmanship whether his team is losing or winning. This guy is a softball animal and it's always a pleasure to see him play. Great season Ivan.

Joseph Noble Puts On Hitting Clinic
Tuesday night's game between WMPA and Double Down Interactive was a lesson in hitting for Joseph. He batted 4 for 5 with a deep base clearing bomb, a triple and 2 doubles. He also batted in 6 runs. When his team needed a spark throughout the game his bat delivered every time and helped cushion an already large lead that lasted inning after inning. Great job WMPA and great job Joseph.
