They Might Be Giants
You wouldn't know that this was the first game of the season for the Capitol Hill league the way that They might be giants jumped out to an early comfortable lead over the vaunted Rainer Cancer Center, but going into the final inning They Might Be Giants held a nice 14-7 lead. Not to go down without a fight, Rainer Cancer Center came up with a big 10 run inning to go up by 3 runs. Stringing together some quality hits like they had earlier in the game, They Might Be Giants clawed back to even. It was then that Brandon Farrell stepped to the plate with the winning run standing on 3rd base. Brandon promptly drove a ball deep into left field to comfortably drive in the game winning run for a dramatic victory! Congrats to They Might Be Giants and to Brandon Farrell, our Player of the Week!!

Ben M. was on fire at short-stop for his squad coming up with ridiculous plays. Everything hit Ben's direction ended up in his glove, showing both teams he's logged some time in on the diamond. Ben also batted solid, but it was his dynamite play at Short that earns him this weeks player of the week. Awesome playing Ben, definite Gold Glove on this Saturday.

You're picking a 3rd baseman for an all star team, you're choices are chipper jones, wade Boggs, or Sean Saulter. If you want to win while having a fun ol' time the choice is easy: Sean. At 3rd he made 2 amazing plays both diving for em and throwing the runner out. Definitely an all star fielder. Great job out there, Sean.

A giant game!
After a disappointing end to game 1 of their doubleheader, They Might Be Giants were looking for a spark to get their team going and get some momentum before playoffs. That spark was provided by Dawn N who had a monster game both at the plate and in the field making some great catches in the outfield. The effort and determination given by Dawn not only brought home the victory Saturday night, but provided her team with the needed energy going into playoffs! Great job Dawn!

Jeff Yeabesley Puts on Hitting Clinic
The Jagerballs advanced in the playoffs by knocking off the Designated Drinkers in a very well played and competitive game. The difference in this game was definitely Jeff. The former Garfield baseball player donning a Grizzly Adams themed shirt and blue jeans absolutely crushed it at the plate. He batted 5 for 5 with 2 deep base clearing bombs and accounted for 65% of the offensive output. Definitely sending the game tape to ESPN for review. Great game Jeff.

Jill Tollefson's Ligjhts Out Pitching Key
Thunder Buddies rolled into the championship game behind great hitting and the great and crafty pitching of Jill Tollefson who all game long confused Puppy Tickler batters. She also helped herself out by batting 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a single and scoring 2 runs. Her mix of inside, outside and high arching pitches resulted in quite a few ground outs and helped pave the way for a punched ticket to the championship game. The entire team played their butts off and deserved to move on. Great game Thunder Buddies and hats off to Jill.
