POTW: Betta Peterson
Hoop Dreams
It was hard work to choose a POTW from the talent pool this opening night. Four different bowlers cracked the 200 mark. But for our money, the most impressive feat of skill came from Betta Peterson, who improved from her first game score of 17, with an 88 in her second, an increase of oh, 400% or so. We calculate by this that she'll have a perfect 300 (at least) game next week. It's not how you start, but how you finish.

POTW: Aaron
The Pope's Holy Underwater Army
What did a pack of pins ever do to deserve such a beating? That was the question asked Sunday night as Aaron from the Pope's Holy Underwater Army annihilated rack after rack. The damage at day's end- scores of 205 and 199. He done hurt 'em good.

POTW: Lorraine Goldberg
POTW: Lorraine Goldberg
O'Doyle Rules
When the rest of the team had fallen apart in the second game, Lorraine was able to pull them all through and demonstrate the true meaning of "O'Doyle Rules." She finished the match off with a strike in each the 9th and 10th frames breaking 100 and setting a new personal best record, and not to mention, helping her team secure a first place spot in week 3. Nicely done, Lorraine!

POTW: Heather Koelsch
Hoop Dreams
Yes, the sea was angry that day. A vicious squall blew threw the lanes, chilling all who bowled down to their bones. All but Heather, who stood confident- triumphant- lashed to the metaphorical stern of her ship of bowling fools, Hoop Dreams. With precision and true grit, Heather fired off games of 139 and 172, as if from a cannon, until the sea was silent once more. They say her ghost still walks the lanes of Sunset, bowling game after game, looking for the perfect one to release her soul from limbo.

Eating for two? How about BOWLING for two? Leading her team to victory this week was 4 months pregnant Karen Jahn. Destroying her previous average of 98 points, Karen achieved a top score of 168, as well as earning the honor of team high scorer. Way to go!
