Defending champs "Roy Munson's Kids" managed to knock undefeated "O'Doyle Rules" out in game one of the play-offs. Even though they didn't take the title, "O'Doyle" took the "Team Congeniality" award.
"Sunset Forever" stepped up to the plate in game two but even with Randy's 202 they came up just short. Nick of "Roy Munson" scored a capped 205 and led the way to another championship for his team, not to mention the last in Sunset history.
The tournament ended with a big bang as teams, saddened by Sunset's closing, drank their sorrows away and then acted accordingly. Priests and nuns slid half way down the lanes while people in brightly colored wigs spent the better part of a half hour trying to wheel and deal at the prize table. After someone was escorted off of the premises for attempted pin robbery, "O'Doyle" stuck around to pay their tributes to our ever beloved Sunset. With the bar still packed at capacity and the lanes with a 2+ hour wait, Underdog bid a fond farewall to our favorite Ballard bowling alley, Sunset Lanes.
