Spring Midcore Kickball at U-District Playfield Tues/Thurs

On this first week of kickball, John put together a great performance. At kick, he played a key role in his teams offensive output. On defense, he solidified the left side of the infield.

Katherine took a hard nose dive to first and was out. We all felt the pain, but she got back up still smiling and continued to play hard. She came back in the next inning and was safe at one, still standing.

Mustering all her will and determination, Lynn pulled on her kicking shoes and made her way up to home plate. She was nursing a severe pull in the quadriceps of her kicking leg, but you wouldn't know it by the smile on her face. She had a plan.
With two runners in scoring position, Lynn gathered as much might as she could, she swung and made connection, putting the ball into play. Then came the patented "Delay" play. Instead of hobbling down to first, she slowed, and eventually stopped, forcing the defensive fielder to make a hasty decision. It paid off. The delay tactic forced a play at first base, giving opportunity to the runner who started on 2nd base, to attempt to leg it out for an extra run on the play.
The play worked like a charm as Lynn essentially knocked in the eventual game winning run. A couple innings later, Lynn would prove that she wasn't a One Time Wonder. Executing to the "T", she produced similar results, driving home a lead cushioning run. Well done Lynn!

Plan B was down 0-2, katy came in with a sweet bunt down the line allowing her team mate to score. She definately set the pace for Plan B to continue the trend and came out with a strong win.

Zach, although the culprit of a vicious head shot, led his team with 5 RBI's, 1 HR, and 1 double. Good job Zach!

This weeks POTW goes to Catie Maino. She was a silent character on the field but helped her team to victory. Quietly beating out every throw they attempted to get her on at first never got there in time.
She always set herself up to score, and that the turtles did!
