GRASS KICKERS
Charles Fedd was everywhere Tuesday night. After helping his team to an opening night victory with a home run, a triple, and 3 RKI, Charles subbed for a team in the next game and added another home run and 3 RKI. In addition, Charles' good attitude and humor kept his teammates entertained all night. Take a lesson, folks.

Lazor Beamers
How do you make a debut in Underdog Kickball, when your team starts a week later than everyone else. Ask Kenji Maxey. His Lazor Beamers made a great comeback against the Turbo Turtles to force extra innings in their first ever UD game. They held the Turtles scoreless in the top of the 8th, and loaded up the bases with two outs in the bottom when Kenji came up to kick. After what looked like the game-winning kick was called back due to Kenji stepping out in front of the plate, the pressure was on. Hero or goat? Kenji blooped a single on his next kick, knocking in the run, and sealing the walk-off victory. Welcome to the game, Kenji.

POTW: "Pistol" Pete Challman
Turbo Turtles
Challman's line drive kicking helped lead the Turbo Turtles to a 15-7 victory Tuesday. He got things started for the Turtles with a 2 run home run in the first inning, and never relented. Finishing just a triple short of the cycle, Challman drove in 3 runs and provided solid outfield defense. Congrats to "Pistol" Pete and the rest of the Turtles.

The Ball Squad
This weeks player of the week goes to Jessica Miculsky!! She earned it with her play at third to help her team to victory. Getting out after out, holding her ground no-matter who was thundering down the base line. She also was the stop of a late game rally that was being put on them with a great double play she made solo!! Great job Jessica!

Lazor Beamers
What a week! Imagine if you will not one, not two, but THREE games with multiple runs scored, decided by one run a piece in the final inning! YOWZA! With this kind of action, you know it would be hard to pick a POG, but it looks like this week's honors will go to Matt Jennings from the Lazor Beamers. Matt had a solid game in general, but his clutch game winning RKI took the cake. The Lazor Beamers and Oz Kickers had a close one for sure, with multiple lead changes throughout. First, the Beamers pulled ahead in the bottom of the 6th, with a chance at closing it out with three outs in the top of the 7th. They got two, but the Oz Kickers had their own heroics, coming back and actually taking the lead into the bottom half of the inning. Now it was the Lazor Beamers who found themselves one out away from a loss. But there was Matt, booting in two runs to give the Beamers their second come from behind last minute win of the season.

Drunk Again & Looking To Score
Garry Capasso started off the night decently enough, helping his team to a win in their first game of a double-header. But it was really in game two that Garry became the human highlight reel with some spectacular catches at third. On one play, Garry jumped to tip a high line drive to himself, finally securing it while falling onto his back. Then he brought out his Randy Moss one-handed grab for an out. Add in a few long throws to make outs at 1st and Garry had himself a gold glove performance.

This weeks player of the week goes to Rob Veld of the "Shockers".. Its fun to see who rises to the occasion come playoff-time, and this week it was Mr. Veld. In a close game, Rob helped his team win with his great play and hustle in the field racking up out after out all by himself. He was a big red-rubber kickball magnet, that caught everything kicked his way!! Great job Rob "Rubber Magnet" Veld!!

PLAYOFFS

POTW: Scott Boone
POTW: Scott Boone
Bonneville Badgers
As his team's captain (and main cheerleader), Scott Boone spent most of the season talking the talk. Indeed, with his regular catchphrases of "Looked good on paper!" (usually delivered after a teammate got out) and "Nailed it!" (delivered after a teammate got a hit), Scott hardly ever STOPPED talking the talk. But on this night, Scott also backed it up with a little walk, too. He had some beautiful directional kicks for pivotal base hits and/ or RKIs, dropping them just inside the foul lines. Scott's general positive attitude and humor also kept his team having fun the whole season, and they rewarded their skipper with a big W for a big championship. Cheers to Scott and the Bonneville Badgers!
