Spring Co-ed Flag Football at Seattle Center Thursdays

Nick had a huge day leading Vatican III. On the offensive side, he threw for 4 touchdowns, scored 4 extra points, and added a touchdown catch. On the defensive side, he picked off 3 Irrelevant's passes and returned one for a touchdown.

Keith's 2nd half interception got his team back into the game after they had been down two touchdowns. He picked off the ball and ran it back 35 yards almost untouched to the promised land.

Dan opened up the game and set the tone for Tenacious D early by catching a TD in the opening seconds. Dan's TD put Tenacious D ahead for good as they wouldn't trail the whole game.

While upsets happen in the playoffs, people rarely talk about the teams that manage to avoid the upsets, and continue to advance. In a surprisingly close game, the eighth seeded Irrelevants pulled within eight points with five minutes to play, and forced a fourth down play, inside Tenacious D territory. That is the point when Stephanie Latimer stepped up to the challenge and broke the game open with a long touchdown reception, putting the game out of reach at 26-12. Tenacious D now moves on to the Semi-Finals next week where they will face Buckleys, who breezed through in their first round match-up.
