Summer Co-ed Softball at North Ballard Sundays

As a new season got underway on Sunday in north Ballard, a few teams had the challenge of starting with a doubleheader right out of the gate. Aaron R and his Canlis teammates were up to the challenge. In the first game, Aaron had a strong performance at the plate and in left center field. It was a warm-up for what he would do in the second game.

With the score fairly close in the early innings, a line drive was sent into the gap in left center. Aaron, running full steam, laid himself out and made a brilliant diving catch, squashing the opponent's opportunity to inch closer. And as he took runs away from his opponent, he added runs to the Canlis tally with solid hitting.

Congrats, Aaron, on two great games!

Luke Deryckx helped his team attain victory today over the STF Slammers 9-4. With a HR to take the lead Luke led with his bat, but also recorded a CG with 2 K's. Luke was a veritable Jack of All Trades to help his team.

In the first game of a double-header on a very hot Seattle day, Mimi K quickly showed that she came to play, regardless of the conditions. In her first at-bat, she cranked a homer to deep left. But she was just getting started. Later, she also ripped a triple, and nearly hit for the cycle.

Her defensive skills were on display as well, playing second and successfully turning a couple double plays. With the complete game, Mimi gets POTW honors!

Kaiser stepped up big time when her team needed it! She brought the right attitude, enthusiasm, proper vocal cords, and the GoPro...This Old Yeller vet came to play and had fun filming her teammates when she strapped on the body cam and drove in some late game runs. Overall, she helped keep things upbeat and stayed competitive!
