Summer Softcore Kickball on Eastlake Mon/Wed

Erik "Blue Eyes" Tetreault earns opening day Player of the Week honors for some of the best kicking Underdog Sports have ever seen. On his first kick of the season, Erik blasted a shot over the outfielders heads for a no doubt about home run. Second time up, same thing all over again. Erik finished his night with 3 hits, 2 home runs and 4 RBI. An amazing opening day performance!

Krystal was definitely the star of day as she reached base safely every time up to bat in her day/night double header. Bunting her way aboard every at bat before each game got out of hand, even after politely complaining about not being able to bunt anymore, she belted her way onto base. Krystal was also a stalwart in the field as she snagged line drives, made stops in the hole to put base runners out at 2nd base. This was an all around effort for Krystal while serving double duty.

Back to back weeks, the uptown girls have won, and nominated Jessie smith as their Player of the Game. Although she wants no part o the spot light that is the underdog player of the week, Smith cant deny that shes earned it. A strong member of the teams defense, and a force to be reckoned with at the plate. The Uptown girls are having a strong season, and its due largely in part to Jessie's performance.

Jason Vogt led the way on defense for the manhandlers. The outfielder contributed 4 catches in winning effort for his team. Great job, Jason!

Brad earns this week's Player of the Week award for his outstanding defense. This guy's range is from basically third base to the hole in between first and second. He was catching EVERYTHING out there, and on the one play he didn't catch, he threw his foot out there and kicked it up in the air to his teammate to record a crazy double play. Brad also contributed with a clutch kick in the 5th inning to put his team ahead for good.

I really don't know what's up with the dynamic of the team, but it seems that every week, Jessie Smith is voted by her team mates as player of the game. After Uptown Girls' close victory in the first semi final match, I asked for a nominee for player of the game and OF COURSE, Jessie Smith was shouted out by almost every player on the team. Then after their victory in the Championship Match, I asked the same question and you guessed it... Jessie Smith's name was shouted again! Once I declared that Jessie was no longer eligible for player of the game, the team without hesitation yelled out matt SMITH!!! Yes, that is Jessie's husband... What in the world? But at least they were able to offer up game breaking stats including his game winning 3 run home run in the top of the 7th and last inning of the championship game. Plus he is in fact married to the "Real MVP"...
