Summer Rookie Kickball at Magnolia Playfield T/Th

Nadia displayed no fear the entire game. She was all over any line drives or ground balls near her, even going to her knees to make stops. On offense, she refused to bunt, sending multiple kicks over the outfielders heads. Great game Nadia!

Sam Herrera was all over the field this Tuesday Night. He used his speed to make 7 catches including one over his shoulder by using just his finger tips. The other team asked that he be tested for performance enhancing drugs. He also kicked in 3 runners and ran the bases like a mad man. Sam, great use of your speed this week as you helped your team to a 13 to 6 victory.

Picture this: Bottom of the 6th, 2 out, runners on first and second, down 2-1. This is a bleak situation to say the least but with Ariel's wheels on second, anything is possible. With a short kick between 1st and 2nd Ariel took off and was rounding third before the ball was even fielded. He flat out sprinted around the bases, barely missed running into the fence and jumped into a flat spin to avoid the tag and make it home safe for the tie. Great move Ariel!

Wayne is the best kind of kickball player around. He's always smiling, never mad, a great heckler (but in the nicest way possible), a kickball martyr, a mediocre catcher and an all around great guy. He gave up a great double and purposefully got out just so his teammate could score. Now that's a team player if I've ever heard of one. Its unorthodox play like this and his conversational style of heckling that make him such a pleasure on the field. Thanks for keepin' it real Wayne!

Do you know what a perfect season looks like? Just check [with] in your pants. They scored an unheard of 82 runs and only gave up 36 all season. They finished out their incredible season tonight while sporting knitted beer can wool hats. If that's not domination, I don't know what is. When asked about their breakout rookie season, their team spokesperson said, "We've been in everyone's pants at least once this season and came out on top every time." Congrats guys and thanks for coming [out]...in your pants.

This weeks player of the week goes to Katie Borden of "In Your Pants". Katie pitched a stellar game in a low scoring kickball outing. With the end tally being 5 to 2, Katie was responsible for getting most of the outs in the game. Grreat playing Katie!

Jared had an amazing game fighting for 3rd place!! But really his whole team came through. There was not 1, not 2, but 3 grand slams by the Dropkick Rookies. 3 of them!! Jared's GS came at a most need time, in overtime his GS ensured the Dropkick Rookies came out the victors!! Some amazing kickball was played Thursday night!!
