Great match. Back and forth scoring. Chopper jumped out to early 4-0 lead off Reed Mickels base clearing triple.
Shawn Kemp rallied back to tie behind Boonsong Puma's big boot. The ball was sailing on this night. Lots of big kicks and deft place bunting.
Shawn Kemp took the lead with some small ball. But Chopper made the late game surge and blew the game open in the sixth to go up by nine runs and that's how the game finished.
Player of the week is awarded to Mary Ann Pearson from team Chopper....kickballs. With team Chopper up 4-2 over Field My Balls late in the game, FMB was threatening to score with runners on first and third with nobody out. Mary Ann was able to come up with a clutch catch on a difficult line drive to hold the runners at their respective bases. The next two batters were retired fairly easily but it was Mrs Pearson's catch in the pressure situation that earned her this week's Play of the Week as team Chopper...kickballs pulled out a nail-biter winning 5-4! Congratulations Mary Ann!
