The midcore championship game in Everett was one for the record books! The whole season boiled down to the #1 seeded Chopper....kickballs vs. the #2 seeded Discount no.5. It was a tie ball game going into the 4th inning at 2-2, but that's when Discount no.5 made their move and tacked on 3 runs on some huge kicks. But over the next 2 innings Chopper chipped away at that lead with some smartly placed kicks, aggressive baserunning and sacrafice flies. It was once again tied up at 6-6 going into the bottom of the 7th inning when Brandon Gardner stepped to the plate and promptly laced a hard kick into right field allowing his teammate to score from 3rd for the game winner!!! Congrats Chopper....kickballs on a hard fought & dramatic victory!
Naturally the Player of the Week comes from the Championship game where it was Chopper...kickballs vs. Discount no.5. This was a hard fought and intense game which came down to a tie ballgame at the bottom of the 7th inning. In a game of great kicks, sacrafice flies and defensive web jems, no play was more important than the deciding kick of Brandon Gardner from Chopper! With the game tied and the winning run standing at 3rd base Brandon stepped to the plate and promptly sent a frozen rope kick into right field which bounced out of the defensive player's grasp and drove in the game winning run!!! Congrats Chopper...kickballs on a great victory and to Brandon Gardner - Player Of The Week!
As what started out to be a warm Thursday settled into a chilly evening, E-town's Finest took the field vs. Chopper ... Kickballs. This was a great game from the first inning to the last! Both teams were evenly matched on the field and on the scoreboard until Chopper started applying the pressure on the offensive side of the ball. In a night of aggressive baserunning, none were more aggressive than Justyn Shevlin! Kicking what looked to be a lone single, Justyn decided to test the defense & didn't even slow down on his way thru 1st and on to 2nd. Forcing an errant throw at 2nd he cranked it up and kept on going to 3rd! By this time the entire Chopper team was standing, leaping and screaming from their dugout and Justyn had no choice but to attempt to take it all the way home. Beating the throw home and driving in additional runs put Chopper ahead to stay! Congrats Chopper..Kickballs and Justyn Shevlin - Player of the Week!
