Drunk & Looking to Score from the start of the game seemed focused on winning their first title. The offense started off hot by scoring a few runs in the top half of the first inning. They were able to add runs in each of the next few innings to extend their lead. However, it was their defense that helped them keep their lead. From the first inning to the last inning there was at least one superb play in each of the innings. Ryan Middleton and Chris Wade were the defensive leaders on the field as each of them had plays that make you want applaud whether you were on their team or not. Congrats on your championship Drunk & Looking to Score, you earned it.
Chris seemed to save his best play for when it really counted. From the first inning Chris showed he wanted to win a championship by the defensive play he made by throwing out a player at first from his third base position. This was only the start as Chris seemed to have no regard for his body as he was making diving catches all over the field. His defense was infectious as other player from Drunk & Looking to Score started making superb plays as well. Chris's defense help lead Drunk & Looking to Score to the championship. Way to lead by example Chris!
In an epic playoff battle, Tommy was just the spark his team needed to pull off the huge comeback victory. With his team being down most of the game and by as much as 7 runs at one point, he would not let his team quit. Tommy was always rallying the troops and keeping hope alive. Almost fittingly, with the score tied in the bottom of the 7th and runners at 1st and 2nd Tommy came to the plate and brought the victory home with a walk off single. Way to never give up hope, great game!
This week Adina Johnson played her best game ever. On offense, she was unstoppable. She finished the game 3 for 3 at the plate, and kicked in 4 runs. She led her team to a very high score, and ultimately, the win. Great job, Adina!
Robert played a superb game at 3rd base making two game winning plays in the 5th inning. On top of his play in the field, Rob scored the winning run in the 6th.
