This game was a battle from the first pitch with Pitch Please! taking an early 7-3 lead. They, however, did not score another run after the third inning. 50 Shades continually crept back into this game, eventually coming within one run after the 5th inning. If not for a call of kicking past the plate [on a play that would have scored at least 2 runs] the outcome of this game could have been quite different. Both teams really did play great and they took this championship seriously enough to bring their all. Pitch Please! has finally reached the top after 5 seasons of getting ready for this moment.
Karrah was a force all over the field including a great slide into second to inspire pitch please! to victory on a Sunny Thursday afternoon. She might have even been out on the slide, but the guts to do it easily explains the offensive explosion for 14 runs - Nice work Karrah.
After suffering through a mid game position change in a previous season that in my opinion cost her team the game as she was the driving force in her team's success defensively, she showed her true grit and metal while playing an altogether new position on opening night for her team. Never being a starting pitcher prior to this evening, Michelle threw a complete game gem and was also 3 for 3 at the plate with two runs scored, helping her cause. Michelle is proving that she is a do everything type player and Willie Bloomquist would be proud of her utility skills!!!
