A nearly flawless regular season put the championship in Pitch Please's sights. Entering the playoffs as the No. 2 seed they were one of the favorites in the postseason but needed to follow through if they were to win another championship.
In the semi-finals, Pitch Please used some heads-up base-running and clutch catches to narrowly defeat their opponent 5-2 and move on to the championship game.
In the title game, Pitch Please brought out the big guns as they racked up 16 runs on their way to overpowering We Got the Runs and securing their second championship title. A tip of the cap goes to Connor Rock, the Playoff MVP, for his countless hits and amazing defensive prowess patrolling center field.
Congrats to the whole Pitch, Please! squad for an amazing season and for bringing the title home!!
In a high scoring championship game, Connor was a secret weapon on defense. Anything that came his way in center field, he would not let it drop. Connor was running down everything and anything, thwarting any rally his opponent tried to start. For his lockdown outfield play, Connor is our Player of the Week!
Tom earned Player of the Week honors for his excellent all-around play Wednesday. Filling in at catcher, Tom was so fast off the block that it left his opponents in awe. He had so many putouts at first, that kickers started thinking twice about bunting. His prowess didn't stick to the defensive side of the ball either. Tom laced a line drive down the line that would be a double for most. But not for Tom. He turned the routine double into a solo home run! Great game Tom!
Bailey showed off her mad kickball skills Wednesday night, as she helped lead Pitch, Please! to an opening day victory. At the plate, Bailey laid down perfect bunts every time, reaching base multiple times. On defense, she showed off her sure hands as she snagged multiple pop ups and line drives while holding down the fort at shortstop. Great way to open up the season Bailey!!
