Well the Cougs maybe didn't play the way they'd have liked during the regular season, coming into the playoffs seeded #8, but they really stepped up their game in the post-season. After winning 3 games to get to the final, including defeating the #1 seed, they continued their solid play and beat the Blue Falcons 32-13. Their team defense was the main contributor to the victory margin, with several interceptions and great tackles against the speedy Falcons, and the rain didn't get in the way of making great catches and running solid routes. Congratulations Cougs on a well-earned championship!
This week in the championships for the Gentleman's flag football league at Juanita High School the player of the week goes to the entire Cougs team. After coming in at a low 8 seed, they won every playoff game handily defeating top seeds, and in the semis and finals they won by an average of 25 points, playing great defense and executing on offense. They all had a great post-season effort! Good job Cougs!
This week was the first week of playoffs for the Gentleman's flag football league at Juanita High School on Tuesdays, and the player of the week is John Ellis of the Cougs. At quarterback John led his team to back to back victories in loser-out games, including a 51-20 win over the top seeded Little Giants where he had 6 touchdown passes. After knocking off the #1 seed John and the Cougs are ready for whatever the next week of playoffs throw at them. Great job John!
This week in the Gentleman's flag football league at Juanita High School on Tuesdays the player of the week is Jared Montero of the Cougs. Despite his 15 yards in early rush penalties, Jared played a solid game and made a great tipped catch for the game winning touchdown on a scrambled goal line play in the final seconds of the game to defeat the 96ers 32-26. Good job Jared!
