Garren started his team off toward a great playoff run with a 1st inning, 2-run HR blast over the right fielder's head. In the bottom of the same inning, he showed his defensive skills with a great catch and quick throw to first for an inning ending double play. Garren continued to contribute offensively with a single and run scored in the 3rd and to cap it off he kicked a big run scoring double in the seventh and then scored again. Great pitching as well in what was a complete game effort and playoff victory.
While coach might only remember his bases loaded at bat that turned into an inning ending out, the rest of us remember just how hard he played on both sides of the ball. In the outfield, he ran left then he ran right and ended up making several difficult catches keeping his team in the game. At the plate, he kicked a single and a double including a key RKI in the bottom of the 7th to tie the game. Kickballers United continued their late-inning heroics with a great DP followed by a walk-off single for the win.
