What a match between to great teams. I heard more whistling balls go by my line of vision than I've seen in years. The dodgeballs were flying and the players were in full 5D effect! The Angry Dragons proved a worthy opponent as they got to the match by beating It's not an STD in earlier rounds. That prepped them to go toe to toe with Gotta Catch Em All. Similarly, Gotta Catch got by Risky Business in the Semis with clutch catches on defense and rocket throws on offense. Now the championship game was set; Both teams went back and forth in wins during the match and I almost called timeout so I could catch my breath. Both teams had some athletic ducks and dodges and I was surprised I could keep up with all the action going on! Gotta Catch Em All had a little more in the reserve and used all of that energy to grab the title. It was a privilege to watch and an honor to ref the match tonight. Congratulations to The Angry Dragons for getting a shot at the title and to Gotta Catch Em All for capturing the title!
Player of the week for Feb 19th goes to Christy Vien of team Gotta Catch 'Em All. Known for their quickness and power, Gotta Catch 'Em All found themselves falling quickly behind in the first game with a one vs six matchup! The lone remaining player: Christy Vien. Christy could have easily given up against a very strong Baller's team...instead, Christy caught a ball bringing in teammate Kate "Smalls" Lawson. Now at two vs five, Christy and Smalls one by one picked off the elusive Ballers to take the first game of the match. Player of the Week goes to Christy Vien for stepping up to the challenge when the odds were against her! Congratulations!!!
