Early Spring Co-ed Softball on Capitol Hill Tuesdays/Thursdays

Well, we have just kicked the Spring league off on Capital Hill and already the competition is already hot. In an epic USL battle on Tuesday night, Frank's Little Sluggers used some grit, some hustle and some inspiring hitting to get by power house Super Stars. What a great way to start a season off and we look forward to seeing you guys and gals in action next week.

The Swingers are doing exactly that, swinging and in the process playing some pretty lights out defense. They knocked off USL mainstay Upper Deckers in an epic battle that came down to defense and the play of Shelley Wilson. She batted 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and played defense like a BOSS! The Swingers fed off of that defensive effort and in the end it was pure defense that won this ball game. They did rip off 16 runs in an offensive effort which proved to be just enough to hold off the Upper Deckers. Great game Shelly and great win Swingers.

Frank's L'il Sluggers are right now playing softball at a very high level from the top of their lineup to the bottom. This team has gotten stronger and stronger each year that I have known them and I must say, to see their transformation from where they started a few years back to where they are now has been a thing of beauty to watch. They took their lumps, they went through their growing pains as a team and despite losing more than they won early on, they hung in there, stayed committed to each other and now they are considered one of a handful of upper echelon teams that play in USL. These types of teams destroy other teams regularly and have to fight it out between themselves at season's end to find out who's the real big dog on the block. Last night they absolutely destroyed both opponents and are looking down the road for a date with the other league big dog All Star Super Stars. Led by Amelia Ren, who is hands down one of the best female softball players in the Seattle area if not Washington state, this team requires that you bring your A game. If you do not, it's going to be a really long night for you. Great win guys and gals and great game again and as always Amelia!

There are only a few words to describe the machine that has been assembled. Bad ass comes to mind first because this team is ridiculously talented and hands down a top tier team in USL. There are a couple of teams standing in their way of a league title and we shall find out soon if this team is destined. Great game Britt and Justin the husband and wife hitting ensemble.

The All Star Super Stars are one of 3 teams that are vying for a championship this week. I like their odds and I like the way they are playing softball right now. They are peaking, are hot and looking to mix it up with any team, any day at any time. League teams please beware, this team is the real deal and will compete for a league championship.
