The Swingers are doing exactly that, swinging and in the process playing some pretty lights out defense. They knocked off USL mainstay Upper Deckers in an epic battle that came down to defense and the play of Shelley Wilson. She batted 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and played defense like a BOSS! The Swingers fed off of that defensive effort and in the end it was pure defense that won this ball game. They did rip off 16 runs in an offensive effort which proved to be just enough to hold off the Upper Deckers. Great game Shelly and great win Swingers.
The Swingers are looking for real and like they may be a team for other league teams to worry about. With a display of hitting, base running and defense they look like they are ready to take on all comers. They reeled off 24 runs in their first outing and that's a clear indication that someone is hitting the ball and scoring some runs. All other league teams beware and please bring your A game when you get ready to tangle with the Swingers.
