It was a close one at the sand tonight, but the Volley Llamas outshined the competition. The first set was a close score, with excellent hustle by everyone on the court. They set up more offense than they ever have before and pulled a win in the first set. The next set was not any easier. With long rallies and sneaky dumps by their opponent, Volley Llamas stuck with it and never lost their spirit. What an exciting season it’s been! Spike Place Market rose to the top as our midcore champions! Their opponent certainly didn’t make this easy. They faced strong cross-court hits early in the match and were getting burned by their opponent’s “bump-kills.” That didn’t stop them though, and gave their opponent a taste of their own medicine, which won them the first set. In the second set, they showed they were truly midcore champs and dominated. Their hitters hit harder and their servers served stupendously.
