Spring Co-ed Softball at Greenlake Sundays

On the strength of her incredible 4-4 day at the plate, Kacy Vannocker did enough to garner Player of the Week honors. However, what ultimately stood out for Kacy was her incredible over the shoulder catch near the right field foul line on a ball that looked sure to drop and add a few runs on the scoreboard for Indy #2. In a 20-17 victory, Kacy was the difference for her team.

This past Sunday was double-header day for the Swingers and they picked the perfect day to play their best ball of the season. First off, they faced the rebel rousing Dirt Devils and put on an exhibition in consistency, scoring in all but one inning en route to a 22-11 victory. In the second leg of the double-header, they squared off against Foul Play and the Swingers, again, put on a remarkable display of consistency as they scored in every inning of the game in an 11-8 win. At the center of the action in both wins was Jesse Scrimsher, who made a few great plays on defense and had 6 total RBIs on offense in the twin-billing. With a few weeks to go in the season, those two wins position the Swingers well for a playoff run heading into the summer.

With a defense dominated game tied after 7 innings, there was time for just one more inning. Pete stepped up to the plate as the 2nd batter in the inning and hit a 2 run home run to jump ahead. The Explosion's defense would take it from there shutting down the Geoducks for the win.

With Jamie Moyer type accuracy, Kirk Demeter consistently found the strike zone for EverGreen Escapes GeoDucks. By constantly putting the ball in the zone, Kirk allowed his teams stellar defense to shine. After a shaky first inning in which the GeoDucks allowed 3 runs, Kirk and the crew settled down and only allowed one more run thereafter in a 10-4 semi-final victory. The team in green now looks onto the final round to see if they have what it takes to be Underdog Champions.
