Don't let the new name fool you, Reservoir Dogs are as old as the hills in BTB terms. At least five seasons ago, they started off as "We're on Strike"- just a bunch of wide eyed crazy kids, looking for a fun time bowling. They could put together a big game here and there, but the clutch performances that equal championship success eluded them. They tried a few seasons as "Hazzard County"- their numbers dwindled to a small core, they languished at the bottom of the standings during the rebuilding period. The Thursday fall season marked their first time as "Reservoir Dogs", and it looks like the change did them good.
The Dogs started off the night as Underdogs to another old hat team- The Bowling Stones. While the Stones were the top seed and The Dogs the bottom, it mattered little. They continued their epic battle from the previous week (which the Stones won), and while the clutch performers from the Stones fell short of expectations, the Dogs seized the moment and went for the jugular, sealing the upset.
Meanwhile, the young upstart Ballard Strikers were making quick work of the Pin Stalkers.
Although the championship looked like a good matchup on paper, for the Reservoir Dogs it was more akin to when the Red Sox finally beat the Yankees to make it back to their first World Series in umpteen billion years; you knew whoever they were facing was gonna get clobbered.
And clobber they did. With all the momentum, all the good juju, and some clutch performances by Ben and Mace, the team's original holdovers, Reservoir Dogs took care of the Ballard Strikers by a hefty 150 pins.
The Bowling Stones salvaged third and their pride, hoping to have Reservoir Dogs-esque type season soon.
