Spring Co-ed Flag Football at Seattle Center Sundays

If any team has a lot to live up to by virtue of their name, it's championship.com and Brian Morris realized that going into Sunday's game with Fancy Pants. Brian carried championship.com on his shoulders, leading the way in a 21-6 opening day victory. Brian filled up the stat sheet by grabbing an interception on defense, to go with 10 tackles, and scoring an extra point on offense. Only time will tell if championship.com can live up to it's team name but at least for one week, thanks to Brian, they looked like champions.

This week in the Co-ed flag football league at Memorial Stadium on Sundays the player of the week is Jen Gingrass of Fat Kids Are Harder To Kidnap. Jen played great in her team's victory over NWA, but really stepped it up right at the end of the game. She caught a short pass and ran it for a touchdown to put Fat Kids up by one point, and then on NWA's final drive with time running out she made a huge interception to seal the game. Great job Jen!

This week in the Co-ed flag football league at Memorial Stadium on Saturdays the Player of the Week is Bruce Stead of Zamboni. Bruce's crucial performance helped his team to defeat the Backyard Bombers 33-28. Bruce had a part in all 5 touchdowns that his team scored and a big interception in the one possession game despite the constant drizzling Seattle rain. Good job Bruce!

This week in the Co-ed flag football league at Memorial Stadium on Sundays the player of the week is Matt Martens of Third String. With Matt's help Third String, which was seeded last, has already made it through the first two rounds of the playoffs. His speed was a constant threat. In the second round vs. Zamboni he had 4 interceptions and 2 touchdowns, and Third String is inching ever closer to their hope of an upset championship! Good job Matt!
