Move Pitch, Get Out the Way!, Pitches Be Crazy!, Three Kicks to the Win - Indy #K16, Zipwhip
Merlin Woodman
Drunk and Looking to Score
In his first kickball game ever, Merlin showed he was a natural kickballer. Kicking like a pro, he got on base multiple times, driving in a couple of runs. On defense, he locked down whatever position he manned. All-in-all it was an impressive first game for Merlin, earning him Player of the Week!

Mike Vandenbos
Zipwhip
In his first ever Underdog kickball match, "MVB" as he is affectionately known by, belted a grand slam in his half of the bottom of the 7th (Final) inning. Those runs in that inning proved to be vital as the opponent had their own rally in the bottom of the 7th to make it a four run game. If the "MVP-MVB" would have gone away quietly during his turn at bat, who knows how the game would have really turned out??? So, with a name of MVB and his heroics on the field, there is no way that Mike couldn't be named Player of the Week!

Elise Mostad with a spectacular catch!
The Bald Eagles hold off the comeback
The Bald Eagles had held a lead all game over Three Kicks to the Win scoring in the 1st and 7th inning. In the bottom of the 7th Three Kicks to the Win were pushing hard to complete a comeback, but then a spectacular catch by Elise Mostad got the first out for her team and swag the momentum in The Bald Eagles favor. Elise left everything on the field with that catch and I consider it the play of the week!

Move Pitch Get Out The Way
Great hitting + great defense = a WIN!
Move Pitch, Get Out the Way was on a tear throughout the whole game scoring runs. Their batting average with runners in scoring was much better than the Mariners, which we are all hoping will improve. Along with the offense they played great defense and the best play of the week came from K Stacks in the middle of the game. A line drive was kicked towards third base and K Stacks caught the ball for the first out, then she tagged second base because the runner left early, and then tagged the runner coming from first for the final out of the inning and to complete the triple play! This created great momentum on the defensive side of the game with a play that rarely happens and summed up the great game Move Pitch, Get Out The Way played and is also the reason K Stacks is the player of the week!

Corey Preugschat
Drunk and Looking to Score
What do Michael Jordan, Mariano Rivera, Joe Montana, and Corey Preugschat have in common? They all have ice in their veins when it comes to the clutch. After 6 solid innings in the field, Corey took his game up another notch in the seventh. He recorded the final three outs and led his team to a decisive early season win.
The Bald Eagles forfeited to Drunk and Looking to Score.

Ryan Benoit
Move Pitch, Get Out the Way!
Ryan Benoit walked up to his first plate appearance with a confident look in his eye and a swagger in his step. With his mighty tree trunks of legs he swung at the first pitch sent his way and sent a careening, mountain of a shot into the hitters friendly right field of Denny Park. The ball just kept carrying until clearing the street past the outfield fence. Move Pitch, Get Out The Way did not look back earning a convincing 19-2 win behind the foot of Mr. Benoit.

Nathan McLellan
Grand Salami
When a player steps up to the plate with the bases loaded in a close game, usually you can see the pressure of the situation mount up. But Nate McLellan walked up to kick with confidence, telling his teammate "I won't need a first base coach". First pitch he saw, he swung and the ball just kept going... and going... and going... clearing the street past the outfield fence and into a neighboring park. This towering shot busted the game wide open and you could almost hear the feint echo of Dave Neihous whisper through out the park, "Grand Salami Time".

Brooke Thomas
Move Pitch, Get Out the Way!
Brooke is a line drive machine!!! The pitcher asked her in her first at bat if she was going to bunt... She politely ignored the question and then answered emphatically with a hard kicked line drive down the 3rd base line that resulted in a 2rbi double. That kicked seemed to ignite her team as they broke the game open after that treacherous boot! She also had 2 other line drive base hits.

David Gonzalez
Pitches Be Crazy!
When a a game is so close, there is usually one play that dictates whether a team wins or loses. After losing some ground and seeing his team's lead diminish to just one run, David stepped up to the plate and called his shot. He told his teammate he was going to kick a homerun and just like the ghost of Babe Ruth he stepped up and delivered, ensuring another win for Pitches Be Crazy!
Rob Bibelhauser led Pitch. Kick. Drink. Repeat. to an emphatic first round win on Tuesday. In the field he was an animal, making play after play to help his team secure the win. The most heroic play of the day though came with a runner heading home in the 4th inning. Rob got the ball and took a quick hop before firing an absolute laser from shortstop, hitting the runner just before they could tag the plate, ending the inning and any threat of loss.
Keagan Rodgers hit two monstrosities of home runs on Tuesday, including one that still probably has not hit the ground. Accounting for 3 of his team's RBI's, Move Pitch Get Out The Way advanced behind the strong leg of Rodgers. If this type of performance can be duplicated, look for his team to make a deep run in the playoffs.
Pitches Be Crazy!'s D.Gonzales GW Hit vs Pitch.Kick....'s Rightfielder Amazing Bobbled Catch
The Playoffs are here! This week showcased pitcher/catcher defensive plays to first and HRs over the right field fence. Also, incredible plays included a game winning hit by David Gonzales and a spectacular catch by Pitch.Kick.Drink.Repeat's right fielder as he fell backwards against the outfield hill and park boundary (fence line). All the action was great and enjoyable to witness. Ultimately, the GW hit by D.Gonzales looms large as the biggest play of the two playoff games this week. This week's Player of the Week (POTW) is decided by the impact he made on the outcome of Pitches Be Crazy's game and the fact he helped his team continue on to the championship game versus Move Pitch, Get Out the Way! Gonzales came through. He kicked the winning run in for a 5-4 last inning win and is poised to be an offensive threat in the championship game. Great playoffs and good luck in the Championship!!
Move Pitch, Get Out the Way! Star Shines in the Championship
Move Pitch, Get Out The Way! versus Pitches Be Crazy! in the championship. A strong hitting performance in the first two innings really did the trick to win this 2015 championship for Move Pitch, Get Out The Way!. After kicking in nine runs over just two innings, the motivation to comeback and win for Pitches Be Crazy! kind of vanished. Instrumental in the championship win and offensive power was Ryan Benoit. He went 2-4, with two runs, and two RBIs. Congratulations on the dominant performance to win the championship. Of course, with this win, Move Pitch, Get Out The Way! was awarded prizes and selected the $75 gift certificate to Underdog Sports Leagues. And super congratulations to Ryan Benoit for his MVP championship performance and earning the Player of the Week honour!!
