The Manhandlers went a perfect 6-0 on the day to pick up their first RRS championship on Saturday. They played a number of close games over the day, but had the heart to pull the game out each time. Those close games included a slim 2 run victory over Friends with Benefits early in the day as well as a 4 run victory in a high scoring game against We've Got the Runs in round robin play.
In the playoffs, the first game pitted two undefeated teams as the Manhandlers went up against Kick Yo Couch Ninjas. The game was hotly contested, but the Manhandlers pulled out a nail-biter 10-9.
Feeling a little bit nostalgic in the semi-finals, the Manhandlers decided they'd just beat their opponent by the same score. They went up against Rubber Ballz and Liquor and ended up with the same exact 10-9 score in advancing to the finals.
They decided to switch it up some in the finals. They would enter the bottom of the fifth inning losing to Field My Balls. Just as they had done earlier in the day, they flipped the switch and turned on more offense. They would load the bases before scoring the winning run on the last play of the game for the championship.
