Fall Gentlemens Flag Football at Juanita HS Sundays

In opening night action at Juanita High School, Ryan Thomas hauled in a 2 long TD passes and caught another (3 total) to lead Any Given Sunday to a big 46-12 win. Thomas' sped down the field leaving defenders in his wake as he scored. Well done, Ryan!

In the game of the night, Ben Willis caught a short TD pass in the corner of the end zone enabling The Goats to tie their game against Zack and the Zack Attack. It looked as though Zack had salted away the game after a Pick 6 with only seconds remaining in the game, only to see the Goats march down the field into scoring position. On 4th down with only 4 seconds remaining, Willis was able to wiggle away from the Zack defenders in the corner of the end zone and secure the pass that was lofted to him. That score pulled the Goats within 2 points, and with no time left on the clock, were able to convert the 2 pointer for the tie. Great Job, Ben!

The Silly Midgets went down early against The Barn on Sunday, digging themselves a 20 point hole. The would mount a big comeback in the second half though, scoring 4 touchdowns, including Griff's game clinching pick six, capping a great second half and their fourth consecutive victory.

They say defense wins championships, and that's why this weeks POTW is Jim Park of the MudDogs. Jim had 5 sacks and incredible pressure on the Zack and the Zack Attack QB, in the MudDogs 50-24 win. It was a game that was far closer than the soore indicates, as "Zack" scored nearly at will in the first half against a porous MudDog pass defense. The score was tied at 24 at half. But when Park started to pressure the "Zack" QB in the 2nd half, it was all over but the shouting. In fact, the MudDogs were able to "pitch a shutout" in the 2nd half and eventually won going away. That QB pressure will be needed the rest of the playoffs if the MudDogs want to win another title. Great Hustle, Jim!
