Spring Softcore Kickball at Denny Park T/Th

Everybody has dreamt about being up with the bases loaded, your team down by 3, bottom of the 9th, with 2 outs, and blasting a homerun to win the game. That wasn't quite the situation for Mark but it was close. Mark came up with the bases loaded and 2 outs and booted a grand slam over the rightfield fence. With that one kick he put his team into cruise control to the win. Nice kicking Mark!

Jordan had a little difficulty keeping upright running the bases on a wet field but entertained us all with his head first slide into 3rd for an automatic out. He added 4 RBI's with some big kicks and had 2 catches in the final inning, including a diving catch on the hill near the outfield fence to end the game.

I haven't checked the archives, but I would be surprised if this is Darin Pope's first Player of the Week award. The guy has got the "it" factor in spades. Some people call "it" clutch. Others call "it" body awareness and control. I just call "it" general badassery. Essentially Darin can do it all on the kickball field. His kicking is a deadly combo of power and placement. His defense is active and agile. Along with his athletic prowess, to top it all off he helped the ref take down the field at the end of the game. Sorry ladies, Darin just went off the market, so keep your hands off our Player of the Week. Congrats Darin on your marriage and general badassery!

Having good hands really helps when catching the ball. Julianne showed of hers, it seemed like every inning. The ball just seemed to gravitate to her and right in her arms. She wasn't too shabby at the plate either. She got on base everytime at the plate and contributed a bunch of runs for her team. Great job Julianne!

On Thursday night at Denny Park, everyone at the Kickball park was graced w/the presence of a TRUE kickball celebrity. No mater what Captain Jaremy was doing, whether it be making HUGE kicks or fielding bunts, he always brought a slow fog, backed by a little inspirational rock, and of course all the while, time was basically in a stand still.....a little like every hollywood sporting movie's climatic scene. Out after out, just increased his celebrity status and w/his clutch kicking turned him into a legend. May 24th 2012 at Denny Park will always be remembered as a day a local legend was born!

Amanda is one of the better catchers that i have seen play this game. No bunts were safe while she was back there. The greatest part about it is that she did not even use her arms to get the runners out, it was her foot!!! She was pegging runners and if she could not hit the runner she would just kick it to the first baseman. Great Job!
