There's just something about that fence on field #3 that almost begs power hitters to take the next pitch out of the park. In the Championship game between They MIGHT Be Giants and Team.08 at least one player was willing to answer the fence's call. Things started off calmly enough as both teams played solid defense and by the end of the 3rd inning it was all tied up 5-5 and then that's when Brandon of They MIGHT Be Giants found his swing! In the 4th inning They MIGHT Be Giants put a big 8-spot on the board behind a looong grand slam of Brandon's bat and then in the 5th inning he again decided to take on out of the yard! In this Championship game Brandon went 4-for-4 including a grand slam, another home run and a triple and accounted for 8 rbi's! Can you say MVP? They MIGHT Be Giants cruised to an impressive 21-12 win and claimed their title as Underdog Softball Champions, congratulations!!!
In what turned out to be one of the best games of the day on Sunday, Patrick Winters put TMBG on his shoulders and carried them to a hard fought and well deserved victory over Team .08. Patrick's two deep bombs set the tone early on helping TMBG get out to an early lead that they eventually held onto to. Patrick's lock-down pitching also helped the cause recording 2 strike outs and more than the average fly outs which made run scoring very difficult for team .08. Great job Patrick and we look to seeing you in action again soon.
