The Championship game brought two excellent well rounded teams to the diamond. All Star Super Stars had a couple more big plays then their opponent Random Collision. The bats on both teams were on fire, but the All Stars found a few more gaps in the field and put up 17 hard fought runs. Random Collision had a few BIG bombs themselves, put could only muster up enough offense to put 9 runs across the plate, as the All Star defense was truly All Star in left-field who stole a few extra base hits in the game. Natalie came up big for her squad with shots all over the field while batting, and stealing RBI's from the opponent with stellar "D" in less then ideal conditions. Both teams had excellent seasons, but at the end of regulation it was the All Stars who won the battle and left with the Champ shirts (figuratively) they were actually mailed! Great season both teams!
This weeks Player of the Week was a no brainer as Natalie M. played ridiculously awesome in her two games on her way to winning the Chipper. Natalie made the catch of the night that squashed a building rally by her opponent. It was a ball smashed deep to left-field where Natalie reached up on the run and snagged what would have a extra base hit. With runners in scoring position Natalie's catch sealed the win for her team. Natalie also hit bombs all night, routinely hit shots over the heads of the defense. Natalie was on fire in very rainy weather and closes out the season as Player of the Week as well as Champ!
Wow! Jason really put the bat on the ball Monday night. He sent 2 to deep, deep left field. One shot, hit the fence and that's gotta be at least 562 feet from home plate. He was definitely feeling it, going 4 for 4 w/2 homeruns and 2 doubles. It's always good to see a such a remarkable relationship between a man and someone else's bat:)
